Brodersdorf is a municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

Brodersdorf is located about 12 km northeast of Kiel and about 2 km inland from Laboe on the federal highway 502 from Kiel via Schönberg to Lütjenburg . The place is connected to the public transport in Kiel via several bus lines.

history

In 1286 Conrad Bocholt was provost of the Preetz monastery . At that time he made a register of the monastic property. The village is mentioned in writing for the first time in this register.

The place name researchers unanimously declare the village of Broder as the origin of the name. Broder is referred to as a proper name. It is unclear whether Broder was only the founder or was also the first owner of the village.

The first census took place in 1803. 39 families and 191 residents were counted. Many of them were day laborers and craftsmen who did not have their own cottage and worked on the farms of the seven full farmers. In the following years there was a sharp increase in the number of craftsmen. Around 1860 there were three weavers, a carpenter, a wheel maker , three shoemakers , a blacksmith and a mason . They found their livelihood by working for the residents of Brodersdorf and the surrounding villages.
