About this picture

Wisch is a municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . The Heidkate settlement as well as Fernwisch and Heidkoppel belong to the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Wisch is located about 17 km northeast of Kiel on the Baltic Sea. The federal highway 502 from Kiel to Schönberg (Holstein) runs through the municipality. A natural beach almost four kilometers long belongs to the community.

Wisch is part of the Kiel Region Transport Association . The closest passenger train station is Kiel Hauptbahnhof , 20 kilometers to the southwest. The next freight yard, Schönberg (Holst) , is only five kilometers to the southeast.

The local recreation area Kolberger Heide belongs to the community .

history

Wisch was first built in 1216, but destroyed in a Baltic Sea storm surge before 1260 and then rebuilt on a hill to the east.

A 4.5 m high dike has been protecting the Heidkate beach and holiday area since 1986 .

In 2002 a very detailed 573 page long chronicle about the village was published.

economy

Wisch is a distinct resort. In addition to farms, there are mainly providers of holiday apartments in Wisch. Furthermore, the sales training provider gives VS training , the Probsteier baker and the Dörpskroog Borowianka restaurant .
