Geography and traffic

Klamp is about one km west of Lütjenburg on federal highway 202 . The federal highway 430 also runs in the area of ​​the municipality . From 1910 to 1938 Klamp was the station of the Kleinbahn Kirchbarkau – Preetz – Lütjenburg .

history

In 1361 the place "Daventz" was mentioned in a document in today's municipality. Daventz may have belonged to an island settlement around the Neuhaus ring wall, which no longer existed even at the time of the migrations. The name Klamp appears for the first time in 1460. In 1739, Friedrich (Sweden), from the Hessen-Kassel line of the House of Hesse, acquired the Klamp estate. Frederick I acquired the property at the instigation of his mistress Hedvig Ulrika Taube in order to take care of the sons who came from this inappropriate marriage. Rönfeldholz originated at the beginning of the 18th century on the area of ​​a forest that was sold for clearing .
