About this picture

Stakendorf is a municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . Stakendorfer Strand is located in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Stakendorf lies on the Baltic Sea , 4 km east of Schönberg (Holstein) . A part of Stakendorf lies on Schönberger Strand and from there it is around 2 km to the town center. Stakendorf lives mainly from agriculture and tourism. There are also several, mostly small companies, such as a metal worker, house and garden service, carpenters and bakers. Stakendorf has about 450 inhabitants and can be described as a small, clean village. With the exception of the bakery and the ham smokehouse, there are no longer any shops or restaurants in the village.

The closest federal road is the B 502 , which begins about five kilometers west of Schönberg. You can use it to reach the state capital Kiel , which is about 25 kilometers away, and the Kiel-Westring junction of the federal motorway 215 .

The next regular train station is Raisdorf on the Kiel – Lübeck railway line , around 20 kilometers southwest of Stakendorf. In the summer months, Stakendorf is approached on weekends by the Schönberger Strand museum railway at the Kiel-Schönberger railway stop of the same name .
