Vytautas Nalivaika
Vytautas Nalivaika (born October 24, 1958 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian sculptor .
Life
Nalivaika studied 1980–1986 at the Vilnius Art Institute with the sculptor Gediminas Jokūbonis . The lantern lighter on Johannes-der- Täufer-Strasse in the old town of Vilnius was his diploma thesis. During his studies he received medals at Lithuanian exhibitions and the Baltic Triennale .
In 1987 Nalivaika won second prize in the competition for a monument to honor the artistic work of the architect Dubeneckis . He created the memorial to the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Visaginas . He designed sculptures and parts of the interior decoration for the Stikliai restaurant in Vilnius .
Nalivaika designed a monument for the Moor Hannibal of Tsar Peter I and his great-grandson Alexander Pushkin based on an idea by the poet Yuri Leonidowitsch Kobrin.The monument was erected in 2010 in the courtyard of the Russian Orthodox St. Paraskeva Church in Vilnius , in Hannibal 1705 was baptized with Tsar Peter I as godfather.
Nalivaika is a member of the Union of Artists of Lithuania and lives in Vilnius. He is married and has three children.
