Wünschensuhl is a district of the city of Werra-Suhl-Tal in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

geography

Wünschensuhl is seven kilometers east of the Berka / Werra administrative headquarters on the middle course of the Suhl . Due to the location, the state road 1023 runs from Herda to Marksuhl .

history

The place Wünschensuhl was first mentioned on December 5, 1284. Landgrave Albrecht of Thuringia confirmed that the Kreuzberg nunnery near Vacha had received goods from his Vogt Heinrich von Frankenstein , including in Windischensula (Wünschensuhl). Later the place belonged to the Hessian-Saxon office Hausbreitenbach .

Kronfeld published regional and statistical information about the place in 1879: Wünschensuhl (with the Rengershof, Dietrichsberg and Schabigsmühle) is a village with 72 houses and 424 inhabitants. The total area of ​​the village is 716.84 hectares, of which 8.6 hectares are farms and gardens, 57.4 hectares of meadows, 324.3 hectares of arable land, 304.8 hectares of forest, 0.93 hectares of ponds, streams and rivers and paths , Drifts and fruit trees 20.7 ha. The livestock includes 22 horses, 235 cattle, 365 sheep, 107 pigs, 41 goats and 49 bee colonies.

With effect from May 25, 1995, Wünschensuhl was incorporated into the city of Berka / Werra. This opened on January 1, 2019 in the city of Werra-Suhl-Tal.
