Auenheim-Rienau is a part of the settlement of the Horschlitt district of the city of Werra-Suhl-Tal in the Wartburg district in Thuringia , Germany .

Auenheim-Rienau is located southeast of Berka / Werra and north of Horschlitt on Landesstrasse 1022.

history

The oldest known document with reference to the place Auenheim was issued on January 20, 772. The town of Rienau was first mentioned on July 17, 1231. The community of Auenheim-Rienau consisted of the two districts of Auenheim and Rienau . On July 1, 1974, Auenheim-Rienau was incorporated into the Horschlitt community; On March 18, 1994, both places became districts of Berka / Werra, and on January 1, 2019, they became part of the Horschlitt district of Werra-Suhl-Tal.
