The Messerschmitt P.1112 was a fighter aircraft project by Messerschmitt AG .
history
The P.1112 was the consistent further development of the P.1111 . The task of the project team under Woldemar Voigt was to find the optimal solution for a tailless fighter aircraft. The drafts of the P.1112 began in early 1945. Voigt estimated that flight tests could start in mid-May 1946 at the latest. Most of his draft was based on the P.1111 . The dimensions hardly differed. However, the cockpit was moved to the top of the fuselage. For this reason, the armament also had to be housed in the lower part of the fuselage. In order to withstand enemy fire, the armored glass of the fighter's front window was inclined to 23 ° and was 100 mm thick, that of the side windows was still 60 mm. In total, at least three design variants emerged in the course of development, the S / 1, S / 2 and V1, with slightly different dimensions and performance.
The project study was beyond the drawing board status at the end of the war. A dummy construction of the P.1112-V1 was captured by US troops on April 29, 1945 during the Allied invasion of Oberammergau . Nothing is known about the further whereabouts of the dummy.
The design of the P.1112 later influenced the US Navy carrier aircraft.

Armament
The designation for armament studies of the P.1112 was called P.1110 W , where the W stands for further development. The primary armament of the hunter should consist of four MK 108s with a caliber of 30 mm, which should be placed as standard weapons on the left and right of the front fuselage. As an alternative, two MK 108 and two MK 103 were planned. To drop loads should P.1112 up to 500 kg can carry. The P.1112 was planned as a bulk destroyer . For this purpose, the hunter was to receive a MK 214 with 50 mm caliber, which was to be mounted in the upper front fuselage. The barrel of this cannon then emerged through the cabin cover. Alternatively, the installation of an MK 112 with caliber 55 mm in the lower part of the front fuselage was conceivable.
