history

The first drafts of the project of a hunter named by Messerschmitt with the designation P.1111 were created in January 1945. The background was the criticism of the Messerschmitt drafts P.1106 and Messerschmitt P.1110 with regard to their excessive wing loading . Nowarra denotes the P.1111 as a brushless type in all-metal construction which consists of P.1110 / I was developed. The P.1111 had very clean aerodynamics and an uncomplicated air intake for the engine.

However, the P.1111 project did not convince the air force command either. The main point of criticism was the placement of the entire fuel supply in the wings, which would have presented too high a risk in the event of fire. Messerschmitt then developed the Messerschmitt P.1112 , which was largely based on the P.1111 project .
