Project draft

The Messerschmitt Me 308 Jet Taifun was the design of a twin-engine business and touring aircraft made by Messerschmitt AG in Germany in the 1960s.

history

With the Me 308 (actually Me P.308), an aircraft design was presented in model form at the Paris Aviation Salon in 1963, with which the tradition of the Bf 108 and Me 208 aircraft developed before the Second World War was to be linked. According to the factory, the Me 308 could also have been used as a training and ambulance aircraft and as a small transporter with a payload of 750 kg.

Like the Me P.141 multi-purpose aircraft or the Me P.160 short-haul airliner, the project was not realized.

construction

Twin-engine school and touring aircraft for 5 to 6 passengers in a pressure-tight and air-conditioned cabin. Light metal low- wing aircraft in all-metal construction with a continuous, unswept wing and T-tail. Retractable nose wheel landing gear with single tires. Two engines on the side of the fuselage above the cabin, the plan was to drive Turboméca Marboré or Daimler-Benz TL 6. In another design state, the engines were arranged close to the wing root and only two windows were provided on each side.
