State Orchestra Stuttgart
The Württembergische Staatsorchester Stuttgart (also Württembergisches Staatsorchester or Orchester der Württembergische Staatstheater ) is a symphony orchestra in Stuttgart and acts both as an opera orchestra of the Stuttgart State Theater and as part of concerts.
history
The orchestra goes back to the Württembergische Hofkapelle in Stuttgart and celebrated its 425th anniversary in 2018.
The orchestra performs the orchestral service in the Stuttgart Opera and also gives regular concerts in the Stuttgart Liederhalle .
The previous general music directors included a number of important conductors. In 2002, the Württemberg State Orchestra was awarded the title Orchestra of the Year for the first time based on a survey of critics by the magazine Opernwelt .
