The gmina wiejska Wągrowiec [ vɔŋˈgrɔvʲɛʦ ] is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Wągrowiec in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Wągrowiec (German Wongrowitz ). The rural community, to which the city of Wągrowiec itself does not belong, has an area of 347.75 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 12,255 people live.
history
From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Piła Voivodeship .
geography
The village is located about 50 km northeast of Poznań (Posen) and 70 km south-west of Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) . The river Welna runs through its area, on which there are several lakes. The area of the rural commune includes the town of Wągrowiec on all sides.
