The 2005/06 season was the second season of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL), one of Canada's top two divisions in women's ice hockey in the western provinces of Alberta and British Columbia . The Calgary Oval X-Treme dominated the season, remained undefeated throughout the season and defeated the Minnesota Whitecaps 3-2 in the championship final . So they secured the second championship title in a row in the WWHL.

Due to the hosting of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , Italy , a large part of the season took place without the top domestic players from the previous year, as they were in a separate preparation program for the Olympic ice hockey tournament with their respective ice hockey associations, Hockey Canada or USA Hockey .

Attendees

A total of five teams from the provinces of Alberta , Saskatchewan and British Columbia took part in the second edition of the WWHL , plus a team from the United States, the Minnesota Whitecaps .
