The Wachsteiner Bach is a 3 km long brook on the parish of Theilenhofen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria , which flows about 1.8 km northwest of the village of Gundelsheim an der Altmühl from the left and east-northeast into the left Altmühl -Auengraben Wolfsgraben . It is named after the parish village of Wachstein , which it flows through.

The watercourse arises at about 475  m above sea level. NN on the western edge of the parish of Theilenhofen in the side ditch of a field path still running west here towards Wachstein. After a half-kilometer run, it feeds an approx. 0.2 hectare pond close to the road that leads from the federal highway 13 in the north southwest via Wachstein to the district road WUG 1 Dornhausen - Gundelsheim . He accompanies this to the village, crosses it, and first runs next to the road, from where it joins the district road WUG 1, then next to a dirt road that continues on the other side to about 80 meters before the left bank of the Altmühl, where it is about 411  m ü. NN flows into the Auengraben Wolfsgraben , about one kilometer downstream from Dittenheim - Windsfeld on the other side of the Altmühl. After about 700 meters, which it draws almost parallel to the river, the Wolfsgraben has its first mouth to it.

The Wachsteiner Bach flows very steadily west-southwest in an open corridor, mostly along paths. There are only two trees on the uppermost course to the pond, after it to the outskirts of Wachstein there is sparse bush on the bank. A gallery of trees briefly accompanies him in the soft image at the entrance and exit of Wachstein; in the village itself he is mostly dumped. Further down to WUG 1, some street trees line its course. The 800 meter long lower course from this county road to the mouth is completely bare.
