Wacissa is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County in the US state of Florida with 386 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Wacissa is about 20 km south of Monticello and about 20 km east of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 386 inhabitants were distributed over 117 households. 78.5% of the population identified themselves as white and 19.7% as African American . 1.8% said they belonged to several ethnic groups. 2.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 26.7% of all households lived in 26.7% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 64.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.34 people and the average family size was 2.92 people.

19.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 22.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 43 years. 53.9% of the population were male and 46.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 53,333 with no one living below the poverty line.

On May 7, 1973, the San Juan De Aspalaga Site was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
