The constituency of Bohemia 10 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Bohemia . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Bohemia 10 comprised that part of the city of Royal Vineyards (Vinohrady), which was delimited by the lines Žižkagasse, Divišgasse, Palachýstrasse, Purkyněplatz, Palackystrasse, Russische Strasse and the eastern and northern municipal boundaries.
In the 1907 Reichsrat election, Josef Fořt ( Young Czechs ) emerged victorious from the runoff election . He won the runoff election with 61 percent against the candidate of the Czech national-social party Václav Klofáč . However, Fořt accepted the mandate in constituency 28 , which is why a replacement election in constituency 10 had to take place in September 1907. In this, however, the second strongest candidate Klofáč no longer ran because he had won a mandate in constituency 26 , so there was a duel between two new candidates in the replacement election, with the national-social candidate Václav Choc in the runoff election with 55 percent was able to prevail against the candidate of the Young Czechs Václav Karbus. In the 1911 Reichsrat election, Choc was able to defend his mandate in the first ballot. Choc scored 65 percent, while Emanuel Škatula ( Czech Social Democratic Party ) took second place with 19 percent.
