The constituency of Bohemia 108 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian Crown Land of Bohemia . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy.

history

After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election rules, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, each with a member to be elected, which were determined by direct election with a possible runoff. The constituency of Bohemia 108 comprised the judicial districts Tetschen , Bensen and Böhmisch Kamnitz . Exceptions, however, were the cities of Tetschen , Bensen and Böhmisch Kamnitz , which belonged to the constituency, constituency of Bohemia 79 . In the 1907 Reichsrat election , Eduard Rieger of the Social Democratic Party emerged victorious in the first ballot with 70 percent, while the candidate of the German Agrarian Party, Josef Behmel, only achieved 28 percent. Rieger was also able to defend his mandate in the 1911 Reichsrat election in the first ballot, but this time he was only able to achieve 56 percent. Josef Bendel from the German Progressive Party came in second with 43 percent.
