The constituency no. 2 ( Polish okręg wyborczy nr 2 ) is since 2011 existing constituency for the election of the Senate of the Republic of Poland and was based on the wyborczy Kodeks of January 5, 2011 (Journal of Laws 2011 nr 21 poz. 112) built. The area of ​​constituency no.2 was previously part of constituency no.1 . The first election that took place in the constituency was the general election on October 9, 2011 .

According to Annex No. 2 ( Załącznik nr 2 ) of the code wyborczy in the last announcement of February 22, 2019 (Dz.U. 2019 poz. 684), the constituency includes the independent city of Jelenia Góra and the Powiate Jaworski , Jeleniogórski , Kamiennogórski and Złotoryjski of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship ( Województwo dolnośląskie ) .

Parliamentary election 2011

The election took place on October 9, 2011.

None of the incumbent senators from the former constituency No. 1 ran for election in the new constituency No. 2: Tomasz Misiak , a member of the Senate since 2005, ran for KWW Rafał Dutkiewicz in constituency No. 6 , but missed the move. Swakoń Jacek , a senator in his first term, ran again for the Sejm, to which he was a member from 1997 to 2001, this time for KW Polska Jest Najważniejsza in constituency No. 1 , but was unable to win a seat. Also Witold Idczak (KW Prawo i Sprawiedliwość) applied for a mandate for the Sejm in the same constituency as Jacek, but remained equally unsuccessful.

Zbigniew Ładziński withdrew his candidacy after the ballot papers were printed . Józef Pinior, member of the European Parliament in the 6th electoral term (2004–2009), failed in the re-election to the European Parliament in 2009, but stood up in the Senate elections against the former Sejm member and Senator Tadeusz Stefan Lewandowski ( 1st electoral period of Sejm, 1991–1993; IV and VI electoral terms of the Senate, 1997–2001 and 2005–2007). For Pinior it is the 1st term of office.

The election took place on October 25, 2015.

The incumbent senator of constituency No. 2, Józef Pinior, did not run again in the constituency, but was defeated in constituency No. 8 to the incumbent and re-running independent Senator Jarosław Obremski . The constituency was won by Krzysztof Mróz, who has been a member of the Jelenia Góra City Council since 2006; for him it is the first term as senator.
