The Heidgen forest settlement is a district in the Katterbach district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The Heidgen forest settlement was created during the Second World War by the Todt organization , which erected four labor camp buildings here in 1940. After the war, the complex was privately owned by the Federal Property Administration .

The name Waldsiedlung is based on the topographical location of the settlement, as it is surrounded by forest, which partly belongs to the city of Cologne . The name Heidgen creates a spatial reference to the neighboring village of Heidgen .
