Walied Abdulla

Walied Abdulla (* 1945 in Iraq ) is an Iraqi-German medic .

Life

Abdulla graduated from high school in Basra in 1963 . He then learned the German language at the Goethe Institute in Passau and Murnau and studied human medicine from 1964 to 1971 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . There Abdulla was in 1973 at the Institute of Pathology at the University with the thesis : "Mikroangiografische investigations Mikroankiographische investigations after acute Miokardinfarkt on human cardiac muscle Methodological overview of results and contribution" doctorate .

He then worked as a research assistant at the Clinic for Anaesthesiology ( Rudolf Frey ) at the University of Mainz, the main research area was anesthesia for high-risk patients with hormone and metabolic examinations. He passed the venia legendi for the subject of anesthesiology at the University of Mainz in 1979, after which he was employed as a private lecturer and senior physician in the neurosurgical intensive care unit and in the ENT eye clinic of the University of Mainz until 1982.

He was Associate Professor , Department of Anaesthesiology at the University of Texas at Dallas , Southwestern Medical Center, with assignment to the Parkland Memorial Hospital for the supervision of interns in training (American Board), member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) 1983, Dallas, USA he was from 1982 to 1984. He then worked as Professor and Chairman, Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Basra . Expansion of higher studies to a Master of Science degree in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine from 1985 to 1991. He was also the medical director of the rescue service during the first and second Gulf War in Iraq. As an anesthetist, he was 1991-1992 Consultant physician at the clinic head, Department of Anesthesia ( Eike Martin ) the medical faculty of Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg. In 1993 he was an adjunct professor of anesthesiology at the University of Mainz.

From 1992 to 2010 he was chief physician at the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Bernburg Clinic (academic teaching hospital of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg ). From 1992 to 2010, Abdulla had full training authorization for anesthesiology, emergency and rescue medicine, special anesthesiological intensive care medicine and special pain therapy from the Medical Association of Saxony-Anhalt Magdeburg.

From 1992 to 2003 he worked as a district doctor and deputy chairman of the DRK district association in Bernburg. He has been a state doctor in the DRK state association of Saxony-Anhalt since 2009. He has been a member of the DRK state presidency and state supervisory board of the DRK- ASB since 2009.

In 2019 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Abdulla is married.

Publications

Abdulla published ten books, some of which were reprinted several times, and 86 publications as first authorship. He gave 160 lectures at regional and national events, worked on television reports and on reports for specialist journals.
