In 1377 the place name Waldengrune was first mentioned in a document. In 1442 the village was called Waldengrün and in 1499 Walgengrün , until they stayed with Wallengrün from 1545 . In 1378 the competent authority was in Mühltroff , which then moved to Zeulenroda and later to Plauen ( Plauen Office ). The Vogtlandkreis is now responsible. In 1551, 24 people settled in the hamlet , which in 1834 had grown to 133 people. 183 people lived here in 1946 and 119 people in 1964. Parish was to Thierbach.

The mill was first mentioned in a document in 1542. At that time she owned a grinding mill, an oil mill, a cutting mill and a bakery. On July 28, 1880, the property burned down to the cutting mill. It was rebuilt and equipped with a turbine and an additional boiler house. In 1997 the miller ceased operations.
