The WALO group of companies mainly active in the construction industry and includes the divisions Road , civil engineering , building construction , dam - and landfill construction , mastic asphalt , noise , soil and sports surfaces, underground mining , railway construction / rail technology , Concrete repair , TU - infrastructure and water conservancy .

Walo Bertschinger AG started its business in Zurich in 1917. From there it gradually expanded its activities to cover the whole of Switzerland and later expanded abroad.

In 2017 the company celebrated its 100th anniversary.
