Walter Hamilton Ewing (born February 11, 1878 in Montreal , † June 25, 1945 there ) was a Canadian sports shooter .
successes
Walter Ewing started in the Trap discipline at the 1908 Olympic Games in London . In this he became Olympic champion with 72 points ahead of his compatriot George Beattie . He finished the team competition with the Canadian team in second place, with 405 points just two points behind the first British team.
He won in the wake of the London Olympics, where he also won several local tournaments. After returning to Canada, he also won numerous regional and national titles there. In 1910 and 1911 he was Canadian champion in trap. In 1955 he was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame , in 1958 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Canadian Sports .
