Walter Edyvean

Walter James Edyvean (born October 18, 1938 in Medford , Massachusetts , USA ; † February 2, 2019 ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Boston .

Life

Walter Edyvean received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Boston on December 16, 1964 through Bishop Francis Frederick Reh .

Pope John Paul II named him Titular Bishop of Aeliae and Auxiliary Bishop in Boston on June 29, 2001 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Boston, Bernard Francis Cardinal Law , on September 14th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Lawrence Joseph Riley , Auxiliary Bishop of Boston, and William Murphy , Bishop of Rockville Center .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 29, 2014.
