Walter Lichel (born May 1, 1885 in Stolp ; † December 10, 1969 in Bärnau ) was a German infantry general in World War II who had received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on September 18, 1941 .

Lichel joined the Infantry Regiment No. 83 of the Prussian Army on November 1, 1903 as a flag junior . He was promoted to lieutenant on May 18, 1905 . Lichel was used as an officer in the First World War. After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and worked as a commander in various units. On September 1, 1934, he was promoted to colonel .
