Walter Rangeley (born December 14, 1903 in Salford , † March 16, 1982 in Glyndŵr ) was a British athlete and multiple Olympic medalist.

Rangeley won the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris . The British team placed Harold Abrahams , William Nichol , Rangeley and Lancelot Royle behind the US and before the Dutch relay. In the 100-meter run , however, he was eliminated in the quarter-finals. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , he finished third together with Cyril Gill , Edward Smouha and Jack London . He also started this time in the 200-meter run , where he won the silver medal behind Canadian Percy Williams and ahead of German Helmut Körnig . In the 100-meter run, he did not make it through the quarter-finals again. He did not take part in the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

At the British Empire Games in 1934 Rangeley won with the English 4-by-110-yard relay and was third over 220 yards. He completed his last international championship participation at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, when he competed again in the relay. However, the British team could not qualify for the final.

Walter Rangeley was 1.74 m tall, weighed 65 kg when he was active and started for the Salford Harriers . He worked as a bank clerk.
