Walter Schönthaler (born October 21, 1954 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian marketing specialist, book author, honorary professor at the Webster Private University Vienna, course director at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences and former board member of Manner AG .

Career

After joining Unilever as a marketing trainee (1978–1982), Schönthaler worked as a marketing manager at Pepsi-Cola's Eastern European headquarters in Vienna (1982–1986) and then for twenty-six years as a board member / managing director of six Austrian food companies: He was a member of the management of Darbo (1986-1990), CEO of Felix-Austria (1990-1997), board member of Manner (1998-2004), CEO of Power Horse Energy Drinks, managing director of Spitz (2004-2008) and board member of PEZ ( 2008-2010 ). From 2010 to 2013 Schönthaler worked as an independent management consultant and published several business novels. From 2013 to 2016 he returned to management as Head of Corporate Marketing at the TÜV Austria Group. Schönthaler is a member of the Business & Management Faculty of the Webster Private University Vienna. The graduate in business administration has been working as a research assistant and course director at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt , Campus Wieselburg, since September 2017 .

Awards

Schönthaler received the Great Decoration of Honor of the Province of Burgenland from Governor Karl Stix in July 1992 for his services to Felix-Austria GmbH, in particular for the strategic reorientation of the group of companies to join the EU . Furthermore, two marketing concepts for which he was responsible were awarded the Austrian Marketing Prize. The TÜV AUSTRIA group of companies, for whose marketing he was responsible from 2013–2016 as Head of Group Marketing & Communication, received the Superbrand Award in 2015/2016.
