Walter Trapp (pedagogue)

Walter Trapp (born April 8, 1930 in Ingolstadt ) is a Bavarian educator and association official.

Life

Trapp is the son of the hop trader Martin Trapp. Walter Trapp attended secondary school in Ingolstadt and graduated from high school there in 1949. In the same year he began to study pedagogy (teaching post for elementary schools) at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU). In 1952 he finished his studies and began a legal traineeship at various Bavarian elementary schools . In 1955 he was entrusted with the management of the elementary school in Ehrenberg (today a district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm ) and he held this office until 1958. During these years he married Gertraud Schaipp, with whom he has three sons.

1958 to 1959 Trapp studied again in Munich with a focus on " Realschule teaching " (German, English) and taught as a trainee lawyer at the secondary schools in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate , Ingolstadt and then got a job at the secondary school in Pfaffenhofen / Ilm. From 1968 he acted there as deputy principal .

In 1964 he studied education, psychology and Bavarian history at LMU and could 1971 he was with his dissertation on history teaching in Bavaria his doctoral studies conclude; Doctoral supervisor was Richard Schwarz (1910–1985).

Until his retirement in 1990, Trapp worked for almost twenty years as the director of the secondary school in Geisenfeld .

In addition to his job, Trapp headed the BRLV for many years , of which he is still honorary chairman. The Association of German Realschule Teachers also made him an honorary member because of his services.

In the CESI (Confédération Europénne des Syndicats Indepéndants) in Brussels , Trapp represents the educators organized in the German Association of Officials .

Honors

Trapp is also a holder of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon.
