Walther Brauneis
Walther Brauneis (* 1942 in Vienna ) is an Austrian architectural historian and monument conservator .
Life
Walther Brauneis studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna and earned the title of engineer. From 1968 to 2002 he worked at the Federal Monuments Office and from 1984 headed the department for sound monuments .
Brauneis presented numerous individual publications on Christoph Willibald Gluck , Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf , Ludwig van Beethoven and above all on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , but also historical-topographical book publications.
Brauneis was Secretary General of the Vienna Beethoven Society from 1970 to 2013.

- 1997 Theodor von Karajan Medal from the Association for the History of the City of Vienna
