Wang made his first international appearance at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco , where he won the bronze medal. He made his debut in the World Cup in January 2013 in Changchun and finished in 15th place. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he achieved his first top 10 placement in the World Cup with eighth place in Beijing . At the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , he jumped to 18th place. In the 2015/16 season he was twice in the top ten in six World Cup appearances and at the end of the season he finished 17th in the Aerials World Cup.
At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Wang achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with third place in Beida Lake . In the further course of the season he won his first World Cup victory in Minsk . He was also fifth in Moscow and at the end of the season he finished 24th in the overall World Cup and sixth in the Aerials World Cup. At the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he finished 14th. His best result in the 2017/18 World Cup season was fourth. At the 2019 World Championships in Park City , he won the silver medal in the team competition, which was held for the first time. With one win and three second places, he won the Aerials discipline in the 2018/19 World Cup season .
