W a nino ( Russian Ванино ) is a village (derevnja) in the Pskov Oblast in the European part of Russia .
location
Vanino is located on the left bank of the Velikaya River, about 50 km as the crow flies south of the Pskov Oblast Administrative Center . The village is located in Palkino Raion and belongs to the rural municipality (selskoje posselenije) Novoussitowskaja wolost . The Rajon center, the urban-type settlement Palkino is 17 km, the administrative seat of the Volost, the village Novaya Ussitva about 6 km to the northwest.
The village, which consists of only a few houses, has road access via neighboring Puritschino in the direction of Novaya Ussitva, where the Isborsk - Palkino - Ostrow road runs, which opens up the western central part of the oblast between the A212 and M20 highways and not far from Novaya Ussitva, downstream from Vanino , which crosses Velikaya with the next road bridge above Pskov.
The border with Latvia is a good 20 km away from Wanino.
