The coat of arms of Peru was introduced on February 25, 1825.

The coat of arms can be heraldic following description :

Within a golden border, divided in gold, split at the top, heraldically on the right in blue a left-facing vicuña in natural colors, heraldically on the left in silver a stylized cinchona tree in natural colors, below in red a golden cornucopia that pours out gold coins .

  1. The first field shows a brown vicuna standing on sand-colored land on a light blue coat of arms , which symbolizes the fauna of Peru.
  2. The second field represents the flora of the country and shows a green cinchona tree in silver .
  3. The lower, red field shows a golden cornucopia that stands for mineral resources .

A wreath of oak leaves hovers over the sign .

The shield rests on diagonally spread out Peruvian national flags and an underlying standard in the national colors on each side, the pole tips of which are in gold .
