The coat of arms of French Guiana , a region of France , consists of a three-field shield .

Description: The coat of arms is divided into two parts and on top three golden lilies in blue , above the golden year 1643 . In the middle in red a boat with two oars and a loaded pile of gold , and below in green three natural silver water lilies .

Symbolism: The fleurs-de-lys are the special heraldic lilies with reference to France . The year stands for the administration of French Guiana as part of France. The gold transport is supposed to symbolize the wealth of the region.

In the "large version" (full coat of arms) of the coat of arms there is a red wall crown above the shield and a banner with the motto of French Guiana, Fert Aurum Industria ( Latin , "diligence creates wealth").
