The coat of arms of the French Southern and Antarctic Territories , a French overseas territory in the Antarctic , was adopted on September 4, 1958. The design of the coat of arms is attributed to Suzanne Gauthier.

The coat of arms is quartered in blue and gold .

The first field is a silver pringlea -Pflanze and in the second field a pile made black Hummer . The third field shows a black, gold-crowned penguin head, and the last shows a white iceberg .

Above the shield an upwardly curved gold is beamed via two outwardly inclined white anchor outstanding five-pointed gold with three stars and the words in black capital letters and two lines "TERRES AUSTRALES ET" and "Antarctiques FRANCAISES" placed.

Shield holders are two white elephant seals facing away .

Symbolism: Kerguelen cabbage is a typical plant of the Kerguelen archipelago . The three stars symbolize the three archipelagos Kerguelen , Crozet Islands as well as Saint-Paul and Amsterdam .
