Warm Springs is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County in the US state of Oregon . It is the capital of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and the seat of government of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs .

location

The place is located in the southwest of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation , about 20 kilometers northwest of the city center of Madras (Oregon) and about 170 kilometers southeast of Portland , in the valley of Shitike Creek at an altitude of 469  m . The Deschutes River forms the eastern limit of the local area, to the north the local area extends to the border of Jefferson County .

The local area has an area of ​​110.45 km². Of this, 110.11 km 2 are land and 0.34 km 2 are water. US Highway 26 leads through the village from Madras to Mount Hood and on to Portland.

Demographics

According to the 2010 United States Census , Warm Springs had 2,945 residents, compared to 2,431 in 2000. Of these, 1,516 were men and 1,429 were women. American Indians were 2700 residents (91.7%) . 1054 inhabitants were under 18 years old, 154 over 65. The median age was 24.9 years.

Estimates for 2017 assume a population of 3555.
