The Watamu Marine National Park is located on the coast of Kenya in the Malindi Marine National Reserve , about 120 kilometers north of Mombasa .
geography
The marine park is located in the southern part of the Malindi Marine National Reserve about two kilometers off the Kenyan coast around Watamu and extends from Malindi to the mouth of the Mida Creek .
history
The national park was established in 1968 and is administered by the Kenya Wildlife Service .
Flora and fauna
The Watamu Marine National Park consists of a coral reef with up to 200 different species of fish such as doctor fish and parrot fish , moray eels , white tip reef sharks and sea turtles .
tourism
The park is an ideal destination for divers and snorkelers. The coral reef can be reached with a glass bottom boat from Watamu village.
