geography

Loud origin

The main source of Lauter origin

The origin of the White Lauter is located southeast of Gutenberg below the B465 and is designated as a protected geotope and a natural monument. It consists of several stratified springs strung together in the valley floor , which emerge as karst springs over a few meters . Some of the springs are used for drinking water supply. The average bed is about 300 liters per second. The catchment area extends to the adjacent Alb plateau, but is not known in detail.

course

The White Lauter flows in a westerly direction through Gutenberg, takes up the brook from the Donntal at the end of the village and bends to the north. At the sewage treatment plant it unites with the Black Lauter to form Lauter .
