history
The name of the settlement Weidenbusch is based on the name Im Weidenbusch , which is recorded in the original cadastre in the area of today's Weidenbuscher Weg road . The field name Weidenbusch is documented as early as 1444 as on the Weidenbusche .
etymology
The place name does not indicate the vegetation with willow bushes . Rather, the early spellings Widesbüsch and Widdersbusch indicate the ownership structure. The derivation from Middle High German widen or widem (= land or buildings donated to the parish church, especially the parsonage) does not allow any other interpretation.
