history

Weilheim is first handed down in 1147 as "Guilin", it was not until 1511 that today's spelling was called "Weylhin". The place was probably created as an extension of Oberglauheim on or near the remains of a villa rustica . The Kaisheim monastery already owned property in Weilheim before 1147 and at around this time bought the tithe from the Speyer monastery . The monastery built a grangie in Weilheim , which was divided into two courtyards in the late Middle Ages that still exist today. Until the secularization in 1803, Weilheim remained with the Wolpertstetten nursing office of the Kaisheim monastery and came with him to Bavaria . In 1851 the place was separated from the community of Oberglauheim and reclassified to Unterglauheim. With Unterglauheim he came to Blindheim on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform .
