The Weinberger Schloßkipfler is a variety of potatoes . It was bred in Austria in the late 1950s and approved by the Plant Variety Office in 1962. However, just seven years later, this potato disappeared from the list of varieties and then also from the market.

The potato has a light yellow flesh, its skin is yellow, fine and with flat eyes. The word Kipfler already indicates their unusual, croissant-like shape, which is similar to other finger potatoes. The tubers are 40–100 mm long. Attention should also be drawn to their remarkable designation.

The potatoes are of the waxy cooking type and are therefore very suitable for jacket potatoes, fried potatoes, potato salad and boiled potatoes. It forms the right additive for the first asparagus dishes. All in all, it still corresponds to the ideal of a good, versatile table potato today. The potato has a greasy, mildly spicy aroma, and the prepared tuber is very firm to the bite.
