Wendel Geraldo Maurício da Silva or just Wendel (born April 8, 1982 in Mariana ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .
Career
Wendel's professional career began in 2001 in his Brazilian homeland at Uberlandia . After just one season, he moved to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte for two seasons before moving to Portugal to Nacional Funchal in January 2005 . But after just four months he left the club to return to Brazil. This time he joined FC Santos . After a year and a half, he tried a second attempt to gain a foothold in Europe. On August 25, 2006, he signed a contract with the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux , the term of which is valid until 2010.
He ended his career in 2018.
