Wendy Ingraham (born January 31, 1964 ) is a former American triathlete and multiple Ironman winner (1995-2001).

Career

The ex-swimmer from California dominated the first Ironman Austria competitions from 1998 to 2000 on the long-distance triathlon (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and later she was once again in Klagenfurt Second and third.

In Hawaii ( Ironman Hawaii : Ironman World Championships) she reached no less than nine top 10 places in fifteen participations: five times she finished the competition in the top five, three times in fourth. Her nickname is Wingnut .
In 1997, Wendy Ingraham and Sian Welch fought a gripping duel on the home stretch of Ironman Hawaii , when both of them fell over, dehydrated and exhausted, could only crawl to the finish and Ingraham reached fourth place just before Welch.
