The Gypsy Camp Goes to Heaven (title in the GDR ), published in the Federal Republic of Germany under the title: When the Gypsies go (orig. Tabor uchodit w nebo , Russian Табор уходит в небо , translated about The camp goes to heaven) is a Soviet film shot in 1975. The Moldovan Emil Loteanu wrote the screenplay and directed the film, which was based loosely on Maxim Gorki's early stories Makar Tschudra and Die alte Isergil .

The film premiered in the GDR on October 28, 1977 and on November 18, 1977 in the Federal Republic of Germany. There was a re-performance in March 2001.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the gypsy camp migrated across the steppe of Bessarabia , on the edge of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The film is a tragic love story between the gypsy girl Rada and the horse thief Loiko.
