Wennenkamp is a district of the town of Rinteln in the Schaumburg district of Lower Saxony .
Geography and transport links
The district is located southeast of the core area of Rinteln directly on the border with North Rhine-Westphalia . Together with Friedrichswald , Goldbeck and Uchtdorf , the village of Taubenberg is formed within the town of Rinteln.
Culture and sights
From 1975 to 2018, the Ludwigsturm , a wooden observation tower ( ⊙ ) (covered platform at a height of 22 m) , stood on the Rumbecker Berg near Wennenkamp . The tower was blown up on October 13, 2018 due to rot damage. From 1901 to 1918 there was a first Ludwigsturm at the same location, which was named after the Rinteln high school teacher Ludwig Schwarz and which also gave the second tower his name.
