The Schaumburg district was also responsible here. Since agriculture on the less fertile soils could barely feed the population at the beginning of the 19th century, numerous handicraft businesses emerged, especially household linen weaving mills, which made the place known nationwide at times due to the products made here. Goldbeck has been part of the town of Rinteln since March 1, 1974. During the Cold War , the Dutch armed forces maintained a military base on the Hasselberg from 1965 to 1994 for the MIM-23 HAWK mobile anti-aircraft missiles , from 1988 MIM-104 Patriot . 1995 the missile position was given up.
