The deep sole is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Rinteln in the Schaumburg district and in Aerzen in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .

The nature reserve with the registration NSG HA 167 is 16  hectares in size. Of this, 14.4 hectares are in the Schaumburg district and 1.6 hectares in the Hameln-Pyrmont district. In the area of ​​the Schaumburg district, it borders on the "Lipper Bergland" nature reserve. The area has been a nature reserve since December 22, 1994. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Schaumburg and Hameln-Pyrmont.

The nature reserve is located within the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park east of the Rinteln district of Goldbeck . It represents a pasture area at the edge of a valley of the Lipper mountainous area under protection, which is characterized by a wide relief from moist to wet grounds lowering and drier terrain back. The grassland, which is used extensively, offers ideal living conditions for insects such as grasshoppers and butterflies . There is an orchid meadow within the nature reserve .

In the east, the Schwarzebach flows through the nature reserve. This has a well-developed waterfront strip . In the area of ​​the stream , forest areas have moved into the nature reserve, at the edge of which there are two small fish ponds.
