The southern slope of the Thüster Berg is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Salzhemmendorf in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 140 is 60 hectares in size. It is located in the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park, southeast of Salzhemmendorf, and protects the steep slopes of the Thüster mountain that are exposed to the southwest . On these, semi- arid limestone lawns and dry bushes are preserved as remnants of the previous form of cultivation on the shallow weathered limestone rock . Furthermore, there is extensively used grassland and near-natural deciduous forest within the nature reserve.
The area has been under nature protection since August 10, 1989. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.
