The old pond at the Rinderweide is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Hessisch Oldendorf in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 092 is 5.5 hectares in size. It is part of the FFH area "Rinderweide". In the east it borders on the nature reserve " Rinderweide ".
The nature reserve is located within the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park in the valley of the Heßlinger Bach, southwest of Hessisch Oldendorf between the districts of Friedrichsburg and Klein Heßlingen.
The nature reserve is characterized by a former pond in the west with extensive reed beds and riparian perennials . The former pond system is of great importance for various amphibian species . To the east there is a moist alder , ash and oak-hornbeam forest with swelling areas. Beech forest communities such as woodruff or grove beech forest can also be found.
The area has been a nature reserve since January 30, 1986. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.
