The Ithwiesen are a nature reserve in the small town of Eschershausen in Lower Saxony and the municipality of Holzen in the integrated municipality of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf in the Holzminden district , in the Duingen district in the Leinebergland municipality in the Hildesheim district and in the Salzhemmendorf municipality in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 213 is approximately 263  hectares . 195 hectares of this are in the Holzminden district, 67 hectares in the Hildesheim district and 1 hectare in the Hameln-Pyrmont district. The nature reserve is completely part of the FFH area “Ith” and largely part of the EU bird protection area “Sollingvorland”. In the west it borders on the " Ith " nature reserve . The area has been a nature reserve since December 13, 2007. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Holzminden, Hildesheim and Hameln-Pyrmont.

The nature reserve, which consists of four partial areas, is located northeast of Eschershausen between the low mountain ranges of Ith and Hils . It places an area in the Lower Saxon mountainous region that is dominated by grassland under protection. The surfaces on the often shallow soils are inclined throughout, sometimes also steep.

The largest part of the nature reserve is between Holzen in the south and Capellenhagen in the north. The smaller sub-areas are to the west or north of Capellenhagen. The nature reserve is a habitat for numerous animal and plant species adapted to open landscapes.

In the south, the Ithwiesen special landing site is included in the nature reserve. Operation is not affected by the designation of the nature reserve.
