The bat winter quarter in the asphalt tunnel, Hils is a nature reserve in the community-free area Eimen in the district of Holzminden , Lower Saxony .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 227 is around 4.1  hectares in size. The 2.6 hectare FFH area "Asphalt Stollen im Hils" is part of the nature reserve. The area has been under nature protection since November 22, 2018. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.

The nature reserve, which consists of two partial areas, is located east of Eschershausen in the west of the Hils . It places an area of ​​the Wintjenberg exposed to the west with a widely branching tunnel system with mouth holes under protection, which was created by the extraction of natural asphalt , as well as a quarry on the southeast slope of the Wintjenberg. On the Wintjenberg there is a forest in which a species-rich limestone lawn is embedded in the nature reserve . Several pools can be found in the nature reserve .

The nature reserve serves to protect various bats . So here come the pond bat , greater mouse-eared , Daubenton's bat , Large and whiskered bat and Natterer's bat before. Various types of plants settle on the limestone grassland, including the orchid species Mückenhändelwurz , spotted orchid and cross gentian .
